When spaniels Attack!!!
If Sam wants to sell his coat I think @browellm is looking for a new one
Mutant sheep.
Halloween outfit
Trick or treat
dog sleeps in some bizarre positions.
@Rob998 recognize the coffee table, gutted I missed your one for sale.
But has he slept on anyone’s stairs or landings yet?
he’s not being allowed to drink until he’s 18, he’s already enough of a loon.
This is Milly, my beloved old english sheepdog. Completely blind, arthritis and neurological issues the result of doggy strokes. My wife died last year (28 years together) and she is my life line as I am not in a good place, she is fantastic other than slowly destroying my stuff with head butting. Dogs are so good.
Very sorry for your loss Laurence, hope you can find your back out of the darkness, hopefully with Milly guiding your way… ![]()
Thanks for the comment Paul and also private message re my loss. The last few years have been truly awful. Lost interest in hi-fi, music, reading, film - everything which is why I appeared to drop out. In tears every day. But met up with Gregg (Catcando) briefly recently, and we talked about the forum so decided to take a look. Have switched hi-fi on - but not really the same. My biggest fear is that Milly will be over the Rainbow Bridge soon. Life’s a bastard. Thanks for the likes, more than I am getting from few remaining “friends”. Bitter? No, but disappointed in people, dogs don’t disappoint. Maybe I need a bakeoff ![]()
Never forget we’re British - we have no idea how to deal with grief, not our own, and especially not Other People’s… There’s also the painful fact that our own peer-group is also likely suffering loss-after-loss - I’m only in my 60s, but I seem to bury a close friend or relative at least twice a year, and have solidly for the last eight years. It can be hard to seem supportive when you have your own burdens to bear, so don’t take it personally. I am pleased to hear you’re seeing a little chink in the clouds at least. Could you perhaps consider getting a young companion for Millicent? - our Max got a huge reboot of life and joy when Tara came on the scene, and I’m sure she’s the #1 reason why he’s lived as long as he has…
Cheers Paul. Nice idea to get a friend for Miller (I have thought about it), but I dont think she’ll be around for long. I moved to a smaller house and I dont like it, so intending to move again after xmas. Also I am becoming an Ancient Bastard with osteoathritis, I covet your “only in my 60’s” so not sure about another doggo very sadly (or even an Alpaca). Anyway, she’s just woofed down supper which included paracetamol, steroids and some fish as a treat with the skinners field and trial. She has just climbed over my subwoofer and crashed into the coffee table whilst figuring out where the back door is for a wee. Then she will be back in for a glass with papa.
Below Milly and Malbec.
Where in the country are you. Some / one of us maybe could visit?
I am genuinely touched by responses here and I guess my posting was a kind of reaching out as I have many very bad days. As the song goes “I will survive” hopefully. I am in a rural village near Newmarket/Cambridge. I think a meet up at the next accessible Bake-off might be a good idea, that and slowly get back into the Hi-fi interest which has taken a back seat. Thanks everyone. Milly tried to get into the dishwasher this morning this kind of thing does focus the mind. BTW some of you may have met my dear Sue, she put up with my roller coaster of Hi-fi interest for many years and helped on the raffle stall with Guy of Puresound at a couple of Wigwam Shows. I know Sam has met her when she dropped round to pick up a valve phono-stage.
Who among us has not etc.
You’d be more than welcome at the next NYB Laurence. Date tba, but it will be in Jan 26.
Just up the road in Norfolk ![]()
Cheers Jim, intending to move back to North Norfolk next year
do I recall your in Swanton Abbot?
