Donald Trump finally announced as some massive in-joke (Part 2)

USA, it’s time for your rebrand - Respublica Musarum:

I’m slightly reluctant to post this because spy bots are everywhere but my brother, who’s lived in the US for more than 25 years, tells me he’s afraid to leave. He’s been associating with someone who’s involved in Un-American Activities (his wife - she pushes ‘Vote Democrat’ leaflets through people’s letterboxes in the run up to elections). He’s a Green Card holder and he’s concerned that if he travels abroad they won’t let him back in because of the Very Bad People (OK, Person) he’s been seen with.

You might think I’m joking. But I’m not.

I mean, it’s fucking crazy that something like posting in this thread is likely to get you denied entry or deported.

How the fuck did we get here?!

I don’t think you’re joking, and given some of the shit we’ve already seen, I don’t think his fears are unfounded either.

Not sure whether these AI films really are being produced by Chinese users but they are quite funny.

Stephen Miller isn’t even kept on the sidelines anymore, he’s the out front (punchable) face of the administration. And it’s obvious he’s the acting president, Trump’s brain is quite clearly broken. They’re unrepentant fascists

The laughing meeting/photo op with Charles Shwab and others who are making out like bandits from this administration was sickening to see

It is astonishing that it isnt compulsory for a President 's portfolio to be put in a blind trust.

It is. It’s just another example where Trump ignores the rules and because Congress is controlled by the GOP, no one is doing shit about it.

It’s looking like Marjorie Taylor Greene is going to be one of the losers out of this, Trump has total immunity so he doesn’t give a fuck what kind of investigations go on.
Peter Navarro will likely end up as the administration fall guy for the tariff policy; Trump will shrug his shoulders and say he was following his advisors on this one.

Can’t believe I’m posting this but I actually kinda miss Jared and Ivanka :face_with_diagonal_mouth:They were money hungry crooks who made a lot of money (billions) off their White House staff time, but at least they gave Trump access to a somewhat rational world view. It’s full time loonies whispering in his ear and watching rightwing broadcasting this time around

I don’t believe he has total immunity - from memory the SCOTUS decision gave him immunity for things done in his role as President. Retaining his personal portfolio rather than putting it into a blind trust would be hard to justify as being within that exemption.

Unless you are Clarence Thomas.

The shit show continues.

Presumably unsatisfied with pardoning the many people shown on video to be desecrating public property on the infamous January 6th, pardoning the founder of Silk Road, and pardoning the former governor of Illinois who was convicted on multiple charges of corruption, he has now issued a “full and unconditional pardon” for Michele Fiore.

Fiore was found unequivocally guilty of taking funds she raised for a charity, and using them to pay for a lavish lifestyle - $70000 of public donations fo the memorial of a police officer who died after being shot while on duty were shown to have been taken by Fiore. She was convicted of six counts of wire fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, with sentencing amounting to up to 140 years in prison.

Still. Theft from charities is just another arrow in the Trump quiver.

Stuff like this baffles me. Trump and his ilk only do things if they see a benefit for themselves. How does this help his cause?

I’m guessing either he’s taken a bribe for it, or he wants to set a tone that a whole load of crimes will get pardons to encourage people to do them as another vector for his assault on the judiciary.
