Iran International has reported that Iranian clerics issued a letter on Monday (7th July 2026) referring to Trump and Netanyahu as âinfidel combatants,â an Islamic legal term for a nonbeliever at war with Muslims who deserves death.
According to the outlet, the Iranian website thaar.ir is raising money for the assassination of Trump and has received $40,286,867.
Iran International said the fatwa calling for the killing of Trump and Netanyahu had gained support from many other clerics and had attracted fundraising online.
thaar.ir emphasises that this is not a campaign funding terrorism, but it is funding the fight against US state terrorism.
I saw a clip yesterday purporting to be of the Liberian president saying similar but the lip movement didnât match the sound heard. Iâm dubious about that and this statement. It reads like what Trumpâs opponents would like him to have said. I doubt heâd be quite so undiplomatic if heâs seeking any kind of favourable trade terms.

I think given the Snopes article, itâs clearly being interpreted as real by sufficient people. Iâd also add that given just how much insanity seems to happen re DJT, itâs probably best to make that sort of thing clear cut.
I wondered about saying âno statesman in his right mind would write anything like thatâ but Iâd have had to qualify that by adding that Donald Trump might. However Trump is in a unique position as he heads the worldâs only real superpower. Thereâs also a debate to be had about what âin his right mindâ means in Trumpâs case.
Also Iâm told a lot of people nowadays get their news from social media. If those are the âsufficient peopleâ then I think the word âsufficientâ is under a lot of pressure there
