Donald Trump finally announced as some massive in-joke (Part 2)

The double irony there is that the challenge was brought by Republicans, and also the State SC judges who voted in favour were the Republicans on the court, and the Dem judges voted against. But that won’t stop him campaigning otherwise.

No intention to offend, but sounds like a bit of a rhetorical question coming from Brexit Britain.
And those WASP wanks are the descendants of the Brits…

If we think this is a geographical thing then I guess Paul’s on the high ground (Scotland voted Remain). It’s not geographical though. There are desperate tunnel-visioned people everywhere, as that nice Mr Wilders knows.

This has been aired many times before but Pie touches on a few reasons why some people vote the way they do here (bad language, so careful where you play it with the volume turned up)

It seems astonishing that none of these ‘facts’ seem to matter

For the first time in history, you can say (or post on the internet) “He’s an idiot” and 90% of the population will know who you are talking about.

(Whether he is an idiot or not is another debate.)

He’s cleaned up in Iowa. Odds on now to be the Republican candidate in November :grimacing:

Only the Supreme Court standing in the way of another Presidency…fuck.

You reckon the actual voting is that nailed on if he wins the nomination?

Well, I reckon Biden is a lame duck, so probably…

Reviving an old opinion, he’s a cunt and the world is fucked with him as president (lower case p). Horrible inadequate man.

That’s the danger. From the little I know about US politics, even I can see Biden is too old for the job. Can’t see him beating Trump this time round.

There was still some doubt in certain circles this morning. Iowa has some of the most religious headcases and his Supreme Court appointees meet their approval. But other states’ Republicans aren’t all so batshit crazy.

I read an interesting analysis of his speech at one of the recent rallies. The off the cuff segments, which in 2016 were the juicy bits that fired up the base, are now seen as rambling gobbledy-gook by even ardent fans who were losing interest. The scripted parts, written by others, got a better reception. His appeal, his ‘offer’ has changed. He’s not the persuasive force he was 8 years ago.

and yes it’s a genuine campaign video from Trump

The worrying element is the increase in support from the evangelical types. This may be sufficient to tip a few states his way in the election. I hope not, but Americans will literally get the President they deserve. This election will say more about Americans than it does the candidates,.

Even people I know over there who are Democrats can’t suggest a younger alternative to Biden who’d be likely to beat Trump. That’s a sad state of affairs.

Let’s see how he does next week in New Hampshire which is a key bellwether state in the Republican primaries.

I’m currently enjoying this (season 2) series of half hour podcasts.
It focusses on how many post Covid/Lockdown Culture War issues gained traction often through coincidences, cock ups & misunderstandings.

The first one leading up to what happened to George Floyd beggars belief.

WTF?!?

Yeah, they’ve forgotten to tango match his hand to his ridiculous orange face.
