Expensive record brushes are foo. I have no idea what the criteria are - foo is more about a feeling, or aura. It doesn’t matter. Foo.
Once one has decided that a particular irrationally costly thing is foo, then foo is what it is and always will be. From then onwards, one must waste no opportunity to criticise, denigrate and otherwise take the piss. This applies to the foo and the fool who believes in it.
Never expose yourself to anything that might be mistaken for actual experience of the foo. There is no need, as it is foo, and therefore a waste of time and money. Those idiots who wibble on about how it transformed their listening experience are clearly being sponsored, or are simply deaf or insane.
This way, you get to keep your money and your sanity. Slippery slopes are slippery and foo is contagious. Stay strong.
Watch out in particular for foo with names alluding to strong, manly things, for those are the devil’s own wallet-emptiers.
It gets better. There is no material called ‘Thunderlon.’ There is however a material called ‘Thunderon’ which is clearly what this brush uses. Both the company that makes Thunderon and the one that makes the brush are Japanese so, slightly unfortunately, some pronunciation issues have resulted in the record cleaning equivalent of the Mitsubishi Starion.
The Ramar brushes are hand made (beautifully) they are a genuine piece of craftsmanship and work better than any brush I’ve used (You would be doing well to make one for less should you have the warewithall and factored in minium wage). Contempt prior to investigation really is the best way to stay ignorant. Sure there are lots of shit products out there - this isn’t one of them.
£350 is a lot of money but will it change your life? It’s a dinner somewhere nice which is chewed to Pâté and flushed away.
