Only for a few weeks though, until things settle down with Trump and Iran etc.
The installer told me you can still put the request in and they will put it on hold until the flux plans are reinstated and then it will automatically switch.

Iām about to bite the bullet, Iāve booked a survey for panels, battery and heat pump.
Mineās being installed next week, scaffolding on tues and panels + battery on thurs.
Yesterday generated funds £4.90
Cost of elec from grid incl daily charge £2.51
My installer said they stopped selling Givenergy a few months ago but he thinks they will end up being bought as the hardware is very good.
He was saying they expanded far too quickly and the tech support team was tiny, they would install and it would take weeks or months for them to onboard the system to their platform. Raise an issue and that could take over 6 months for them to fix or resolve it.
Iāve just been told that it wouldnāt make economic sense to have panels due to the orientation of the roof, plus itās a pretty flat pitch, 22.5 degrees.
I will probably go for a heat pump and a 10 kw battery.
Oh well, itās not looking promising. It would appear that we donāt have anywhere suitable to site the heat pump. Looks like it could be just a battery ![]()
Do you have space for an exercise bike?
Oh dear, from bad to fucking terrible.
They canāt install the panels as the gable wall is falling away from the house. Turns out there were no wall ties put in when it was built and the wall is bowing out and the end tiles have moved across.
The gap between there tiles is right above the cavity so that explains why the humidity went through the roof when we had the non stop rain.
Here comes about Ā£10-15k of work I donāt have the money for and the insurance have just said Iām not covered if no wall ties were installed as that is āimproper workmanshipā
Fuckety fuck fucking fuck
Did you have a survey done when you bought it? (not that the fuckers would ever be accountable unless you spend £££ on some deluxe version)
only a basic £400 survey on the basis that the mortgage survey would be adequate
Yep, looking back it was like that since 2022 but I think the recent rain has made it much worse
Itās a common problem where the gable brickwork isnāt tied to the roof timbers. Itās not something that was required when your house was built.
Interesting, the insurance are claiming they should have had wall ties in the 60ās so itās deemed to be āimproper workmanship or buildā and therefore not covered by the insurance.
the first place that came up when looking into wall ties was quite close to you & I think they offer a free survey.
Those are cavity ties Guy, this a totally different problem.
They should have cavity ties Chris, these are gable restraints which werenāt introduced until much later.
