It will do if it’s boiling water at that speed. Should be marked up in your consumer unit.
Yep, 32a ![]()
I’d like to leave gas completely.
Unfortunately we a 5.5K Falcon Range in great condition.
They don’t do a hob conversion kit (of course..), just a whole new range.
I even looked at the possibility of getting an induction hob and fitting myself.
Love a bit of DIY..
Nothing wide enough, plus years to pay back once bought and connected.
At least I got the gas standing charge down from £0.33 with Octopus per day to £0.13 with Fuse, so not too bad!
Good to hear the positives about induction hobs - one day maybe.
I hate the smell of burning gas, toxic stuff - always run the extractor fan.
Remember all the ads in the 60s and 70s about how clean gas is? Yeah compared to coal maybe![]()
Benzene, nitrogen dioxide, and other VOCs all given off.
I saw the BUS for oil and LPG is now at £9000.
Did the sums.
With the Fuse gas Standing Charge and current fixed tariffs we’re on, the gas hob is £5-6 more expensive pa vs an induction hob!
No brainer to keep it.
Those on elec car tariffs with batteries would save more of course.
Finally got connected to Intelligent Octopus Go this afternoon, but what a palaver - had to call Octopus 5 times ![]()
Just couldn’t get the charger registered and connected. Octopus’ app kept showing a “something’s gone wrong” error message. Turns out it was because of the shit mobile reception in our area. Despite that I want the Hypervolt to control charging, rather than the car, Octopus still want to “verify” the car via it’s reg number and vin. Problem is the ID3 uses the cell network to communicate with everything, rather than the house WiFi (which it won’t connect to) in the end they modified my account so that the Hypervolt connected without the car’s identity being verified. FFS…
How did your survey go Mark?
Yeah it’s come through and now I’ve got a list of questions as long as your arm, which is always the way.
The biggest issue is siting a 10kW heat pump. It’s a massive double height fucker which they neglected to mention so away from the property will be required and not costed into their estimate.
I have other questions about some of their heat loss calcs and cylinder location options that weren’t really nailed down on the day of the survey. Need to book a call in with them.
Which brand are they suggesting? Mitsubishi’s 10kW offering is still a single fan.
