Pretty shit on the Kent coast 1c currently
snow lasted about an hour with nothing settling
I’m not that far from you but we’ve just got a few drops something a bit shitty coming down.
Not the best photo but -7 this morning in the southern uplands and set to get colder the next couple of nights.
X.
Coldest I’ve seen on the Kent\Sussex border is an indicated -6.5°C.
The Carex© soap in my work bag was frozen solid. It was in Alison’s boot and had been driven 40 miles to work…
That felt cold but the coldest I’ve experienced is -16°C at Tignes.
Almost a snap - the coldest I’ve knowingly experienced is -15c, also in Tignes!
wasn’t massively cold overnight but the kitchen was at a low of 9c
The crittall windows look cool in the kitchen but the heat just gets sucked straight into the conservatory
I looked into crittall windows/doors when we did an extension - and decided against them for that reason. You can get double-glazed crittall (or rather you have to now, if doing a new build) but it costs a fortune. We were quoted c.£50k for our space by a number of manufacturers, compared to £5k for standard aluminium framed bi-fold doors. Shame as they look so much better.
these are the original 1960’s windows, for some reason when the conservatory was built in the 80’s they just chucked it on the back and kept the old back door and windows etc.
I’ve seen that done a few times - I guess it’s cheaper as you don’t have to knock down the wall.
Also a neighbour did something similar recently as under current building regs, if you build it like that, there’s less/no planning permission and sign offs required, in our area at least.
