Just wondered if anyone has dealt with Vintage Tube Services?
I’m struggling to find quality matched pairs of Tung-Sol but this chap will match where other suppliers won’t.
I got some nice Raytheon from Langrex who were helpful but no Tung-Sol
Looks good, if he has any 10y or 6ax4 tubes happy to try him and share the import postage etc, usually good to do bigger orders to the states
Odd there is no s3arch facility on the website, defo old school in a good way
Happy to share an order if I go ahead, was hoping that someone might have some knowledge of him.
He does list everything in the stock list, you do have to scroll through it though.
Comes across as a one man band control freak.
(Does not work well with others)
Plenty like that in the hifi world.
Slags off everyone else in the business, tells you that if he doesn’t like the box you use for returns he will send them back unopened and charge you.
Probably absolutely fine when things go OK!

Reminds me of another HiFi distributor/dealer in the UK who insisted people phone him or write letters. He told me in 2010 that he didn’t think email was an appropriate method for business communication!

Where I work, we still have clients who want to fax us, we currently have a project in place trying to get them to email instead! Couldn’t believe it when I heard it the other week.
Sorry Darren, ended up getting some 5687s from Langrex as they got some NOS Tung-Sols in so won’t be ordering from the states.
Just as well as the NOS pair of Raytheon lasted 5 months until one went noisy.
Finding quiet 5687 can be a pain. How are the Tung Sol?

No worries, I got distracted and forgot to follow up 
I will get round to buying a spare set of 801a 10yat some point plus the diode for my Thomas Mayer power supply but still not sure who to buy from (maybe ask for a price from Elrog)
