Formula 1 - 2025

Someone smarter than me needs to explain this pls

The greatest designer there is, hired to design the fat rich fucker’s 26 car, trying out the TP gig at the age of nearly 70 ??

F1 is on Acid now. </>

The Peter Principle in action!

His book’s a good read though.

Just up the road from me in Bourne - last time I looked, the more permanent buildings were still in use by a local bus company.

They used to test the cars (notably the 16 cylinder) at nearby RAF Folkingham between the end of WW2 and the spell in the '50s and '60s when the yanks had medium range nuclear missiles based there :open_mouth:

Long-abandoned, it’s the graveyard for hundreds of old construction and utility vehicles - many bought as military surplus almost as-new and intended to be broken gradually for parts, meaning many are fairy skeletal and rusted, but with just a few hours on the clock…

It’s a decidedly strange sight when you first emerge from surrounding highly-rural woodlands to be confronted by a long, straight runway lined with such a post-apocalyptic vision -

Used to be able to wander round the site, but they’ve become VERY vigilant in the last few years so I stay clear now. Partly because some brand-new vehicles arrived ca 2022, but more because of so-called ‘URBEX’ twats publishing the location on YouTube which attracted hordes of similar types and ruined it for everyone.

There’ll probably be 200x Ajax AFVs rusting away there soon

I hope when Max wins the DC next week he remembers to thank the FIA and McLaren for all the help they’ve given him… :poop:

Good drive from.Lando that: pushed really hard when he had to

A bit surprised Max didn’t take another stop and back them up for shits and giggles

Half expected McLaren to find a way to fuck it up.
If Tsunoda had taken Norris out there would have been ructions!

Obviously yuki had to try and hold up Norris. But having 3 stabs at him and forcing him off the track after saying on the team radio “I know what to do” was pretty blatant.

The opportunity would never have been squandered under Horner  Aside from Tsunoda’s characteristic clumsiness, RB played a pretty straight game.

Pleased for Lando, whatever else, he’s a likeable chap.

Now we bin-off everything we think we know ready for '26’s frog-in-a-blender approach…

I really must do some actual reading about the changes

Great drive Lando … Aggressive when he needed to be …I couldn’t be happier… That Red Bull and Ver though … Jesus …

however doesn’t matter now because it’s all a big card shuffle for 2026 …

Well done Lando …

I’m pleased that Lando gained his first championship. It was a close run thing thanks to FIA manipulation. But a deserved victory.
Max remarkably genuine in his reaction, likewise Oscar (who was robbed, obviously)

Could’ve easily been another max championship if red bull had a second car up in the mix stealing a couple of points from the McLarens at any point in the season.

Obviously new regs next year could change things and there’s no doubting max as one of if not the greatest driver but surely they need to be able to get someone working in that second car to help with strategy and disrupt the other drivers fighting for championships.

They need to get a car that other people can drive.
Neither Lawson or Tsunoda are bad drivers, but if you design a car for Verstappen’s aggressive style don’t be surprised if others struggle.

There’s no doubt the car is always tailored towards max but surely something else is going on when the second drivers starts the season not a million miles away and by the end of the season is nowhere. Surely they have to learn that they’re going to have to compromise with the car to have 2 drivers up there rather than max 15 seconds ahead of everyone

Continuous development in favour of Max, why else did he have much better second half of the season and end up in contention for the championship?
2nd driver was lucky to get in Q3 and Max was on pole.
RBR realised early in the season that they didn’t have competitive car and had no hope of winning the constructors title so put all their effort into supporting arguably the most talented driver on the grid.
ALL of their efforts supporting Max also meant sacking Horner.

Jos Verstappen has a lot of influence!
