I moved in to my new home with the intent of seeing where the dust settled and worrying about money down the line, but sadly, having left it 6 months, the money isn’t getting any better, mostly due to cost associated with the move / split / life. So I need to re-fill the bank
I’ve been in the same situation in the past. It’s not easy. You don’t need me to tell you that you’re doing the right thing. Sorting out the finances will take a lot of stress out of your situation and can only be a good thing. I hope that the amp and speakers sell quickly.
oh the records you’ll have to prise out of my cold dead hands!
Plan in short term, is that I can hang onto my mates marantz monoblocks for a bit. So probably looking to find a cheap DAC/Pre to run into them for Roon, and I’ll strap on a basic phono stage.
Or I’ll get a basic pre with phono stage and keep my Cambridge streamer. I can’t decide yet.
The big ticket items are my Amp, Speakers and Technics 1200GR2, so I’ll move them first!
It’s the way of things, it’s been an unbelievably hard year and I hoped things would settle, but they haven’t done. Getting life back on track means more than the Hifi. So it is what it is
Thanks for the kind words though! It’s hugely appreciated
FWLIW, I’ve trodden a similar path more than once, and eventually you do come out the other side happier and healthier. It doesn’t always feel like it, but there’s light at the end of every such tunnel.
