Yep, I get that - though even those puzzle me. I mean. look at Mo-fi (ignoring recent overegged scandals) - pretty predictable catalogue, but also, permanently sold-out… They could easily sell 10x more of most of their reissues - but never seem to care.
Is this Rolex-style stealth marketing? i.e. always ensure undersupply, and sell small(er) volumes at higher prices - treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen?
The first track is enough to put that on ignore

See what you mean, sometimes this is down to the licensing agreement with the label i.e licensed to run 3,000. 10, 000 etc
