Horn Videos Playing Jizz šŸ’©

The difference is cable lifters, but not in anyway an ironic sense

I don’t know about serious stuff here but I do see serious people.

Like those who take Keith Purite sarcasm seriously
Or like the crimson donkey who confirmed his tagline status taking a cat joke seriously
Or Catcando who blew an ulcer taking seriously a M. Night Shyamalan movie quote (superhero…villain)

ps: Gregg is actually a gentleman, I think a bit oblivious to forum sarcasm and movie quotes. He probably sits in his elevated chair in his GIK damped room, looks at his mobile and goes…HOLY FUK MOVIE QUOTE I FEEL LIKE A GRAMMATICAL ERROR COMING.

bonzo75 are you ok. There’s numbers you can call

I imagine quite often both sides posting replies at times like this are having a giggle to themselves. Communication via text isn’t great really and it’s difficult to know how people take things you type.

To summarise, videos convey better than words

At some point someone should post a video of a cat watching a youtube video on a soundbar of a jazz inspired Eurovision song via horns, because at that point the forum and all of the world around it would inflect in upon itself and the Rapture would be triggered.

Afraid it’s not jazz, but that time my friend won 7 loudspeaker lamps at auction, and couldn’t sell them

It’s never really been all that clear what the objective is behind all this spamming of videos and telling everyone what they should think when they listen to them…

But so far you have to admit - its going just great :joy:

A person who buys or forms an opinion based on words / reviews may be misled.
A person who buys or forms an opinion based on the strength of video’s may well be disappointed
A person who buys or forms an opinion based on the strength of measurements may be disappointed
A person who buys or forms an opinion based on on the strength of Hi If Shows may be disappointed
A person who buys or forms an opinion based on the strength of recommendations may end up strangling his friend.

A combination of the above hopefully arms a man with some insight. For example a video featuring measurements and a descriptive overview of the sound is perhaps more informative than a 2D mag review on it’s own. Or anecdotal evidence from a friend.

Listening to desired equipment in your own space with your own records obviously trumps the above. (Home demo / bake offs etc are considerably more useful.)

We’ve found films useful as one tool in the tool kit, but really they are showing the function / aesthetic and sometimes ā€˜lifestyle’ (Hate this phrase) elements of the turntables we work on. We do make a flawed effort to cut back on some of the sound variables however.

  1. The Mic 1M from the speaker (Hopefully to cut back on room interaction)
  2. Recordings are Mono (Very limiting for most people)
  3. Levels are set and repeatable (Important volume alone can throw perceptions completely)
  4. Always use the same Mic.
  5. We try to record different styles of music.

These films aren’t meant to compare and contrast or make final judgements. They serve to give a sense of a restored idler turntable visually which perhaps alongside reviews / previous experience / recommendation fill in a small blank or two in the minds of people interested. They are just illustrations that offer a ā€˜sip’.

Speaker placement / distance from speaker, phone used / volume of system playing etc etc are all major factors *before compression and digitization lay waste to detail and resolution.

I do like to see full on mad systems though.

Hi what are the electronics and speakers used in these videos?

Shouldn’t you be able to tell us that from listening to Matt’s videos?

You should have been paying more attention in the elementary course on how to use videos. Do you feel compelled by your user name tag line to show it with every post

Now look who is having a sense of humour failure
