Who said it was a problem?
More like cba than a problem, A bit like having a porsche in your drive for 3 months and never wondering what it would be like to drive it because you have another car.
In a way it shows how far things have changed on the forum regarding hifi

Nah, not cba either. More a fear that the M7 phono might actually sound better than the BTJ, which would mean having another huge dilemma.

Bad enough already, having to choose between the M7 line and the Predaā€¦:weary:

Canā€™t see the dilemma tbh. Just compare both pre amps and also the M7 phono against the BTJ.

Keep the combination that sounds best to your ears and sell what remains.

Common sense Alert! Jim is luxuriating in his self imposed high class ā€˜issueā€™ I for one am envious of this problem. Go Jim!

Itā€™s not that simple - both have their positives and negatives. Luckily, as mentioned above, I have the luxury of time.

The M7 has slightly more detail, more emotion but also more energy at the top. The Goto tweeter is also quite lively, so this can make for a fatiguing listen on some recordings. However, providing the recording isnā€™t thin and toppy, it can sound absolutely glorious. The above attributes are even more obvious when moving from vinyl to digital.
Also the amount of gain it has is just silly - at normal listening levels the volume control is just barely off the stop.

The Preda is more laid back and has a darker, quieter background. Still very detailed, but not so etched, like the M7.
The Preda is also more connectable than the M7, never had a problem with earth hum on the Preda, but The M7 is more problematic. I cannot use the Eversolo with the M7, because somewhere thereā€™s an earth loop giving an almighty mains hum. Yet the Nagra and TT are quiet. :man_shrugging:

So, plenty of variablesā€¦and Iā€™ve not even started talking about the differences between the BTJ and M7 phono yetā€¦

Keep both. :+1:

Actually it was a joke calling it a Vocal concerto - because Jim Mark and I are making many vocal noises. Hence the first performance

There is no vocal concerto from Beethoven. It is a violin concerto

So it was just a joke? Who is Mark, and why is he singing Beethoven?

Was he a bit Brahms?

@Rensselaer

The only thing Liszting was Kedarā€™s phoneā€¦

So two people popped round yer house and played classical music and made phone videos of it?

I hope you all had a really lovely day.

Yes, pretty much, but only @bonzo75 did the vids. Mark did fetch a few jazz records, which we played but werenā€™t recorded because @bonzo75 knew you were all fed up with them and wanted a change. :grinning:

Should get @Jim to play the bassoon concerto

Are you able to compare the delights of the different systems?
I am fucked if I can tbh.

Different systems - not sure I understand what you mean Mark.

I havenā€™t been on this web site for awhile so only just now responding, but I was there on the day and this track really did sound most excellent in person.
