Maverick Show 26th October 2025

Intended to come today.

Flu / Covid / illness stopped it. Probably another gift from a flight home last week (germ capsules).

Have fun everyone.

I drove home last night after exhibiting. I got back at 9:30, unpacked the car and sat down for 5 minutes. I woke up at 3:30 in the chair! Dragged myself up to bed and woke up at 11:00 this morning. I’m aching all over. If I do another show, it will be as a shared room with half the kit.

Thanks to everyone who visited me and Rick and Kate in room 205.
It was great to see everyone and thanks to all who helped us pack up at the end of the day.
I didn’t get around all the rooms but the ones I did see that I liked were.
Chris @Rab1991 with his horns and his big boxes. It sounded really good, well done Sir.
The Tanberg room I liked, well matched and just easy to listen too.
Dean’s room was as much fun as it always is, always find it hard to leave as his choice of music is legendary.
As I said perhaps only visited a third of the rooms so I’m sure there were others that were fab.
We enjoyed the day and had lots of nice comments. Mostly, What are those speakers? or where is the sub woofer? (we didn’t have one). Transporting two turntables and a very heavy Viva 845 is not easy but I think we did OK.
I think we’ll just attend for a listen next year.
Then maybe reel to reel in 2027 who knows.!!

Just home after finally finished unloading and taking the hire van back. If someone can tell me to be sensible next year and take small speakers that would be great although a pair of w onken might just fit in the room, should’ve measured up before i left.

Great to see everyone from settle again. As always not enough time to go round and see every room. I didn’t get a single chance to actually leave my room on the sunday as i had constant visitors. Hopefully catch some of you again at some point.

Is it bad that I look at that picture and think they don’t actually look that big.

Had a great weekend at the show and a big thanks to everyone that visited my room. I was exhibiting alone and see great pictures of rooms which I was unfortunately unable to visit. Maybe a room share next year or I take my daughter along as she seems keen. I somehow managed to get my impulse buy of Tannoy Berkeleys from the charity auction into my car. Selling my show speakers at the curry meal later that evening greatly helped. Rick and Tim @Spider got an amazing sound out of a small pair of Royd Sintras and Chris @Rab1991 latest large horn speakers were spectacular.
