it does,
Bugger might just have to order a bottle or two…
Pissing the Stamp Duty money up the wall Wayne?
There’s a space under the house begging to be converted into a cellar and I’ve got to fill it with something.
After having bought a crate of it a few days ago, I’ve been getting somewhat pissed on Kwak ever since.
By golly 'tis good. I’m getting lemons, honeyed sweetness that somehow isn’t cloying. A definite light saltiness, some spiciness & a touch of pepper throughout. The finish is very long I’m getting some Seville marmalade notes at the end.
I’m now in my third small sip & it is simply divine!!
Slàinte Mhath , back at you Roger & indeed to all!!
what did you think of that? Smooth and unremarkable…Good at that price though.
I quite liked it, rather good at the price. More woody oak notes than I would tend to expect from an Irish whiskey. Some spiciness, caramelly/toffee notes.
It has a dry earthiness that I found unusual, but was enjoying more & more as I got to the end.
The buttered popcorn & cinnamon + nutmeg presence notes in the M.o.M. tasting notes are definitely there, but quite subtle.
Quite silky/creamy in mouth feel & with the touch of vanilla you would expect from cask matured whiskey done in American oak first fill Bourbon casks. The vanilla is ‘present’ & subtle rather than in yer face like some Bourbons can be when done badly or overdone.
I thought it quite good overall, it didn’t feel like a shabby end to the night, following on from two excellent single malts.
i agree eminently drinkable
It made enough of a positive impression, that I remembered my tasting impressions from last night quite clearly.
More of the XT APA, watching the Rugby of course.
As you say @hoopsontoast, nice, but possibly not the Second Coming that the local hipsters made it out to be.
