Big problems with an immigration raid in Peckham this afternoon.
Police ended up surrounded and heavily outnumbered and ended up having to let the guy go “on bail” (presumably never to be seen again).
Whatever the rights and wrongs of this particular case it’s cheering to see a good bit of civil disobedience as a result of Tory policy. I will be an enthusiastic joiner-inner given the opportunity.
Police leave to chants of “don’t come back to Peckham” (“da daah daah da” - the Conga - only in Britain).
