....more armchair politics (Part 1)

Really doubling down

Cunts !

If any of them have spines there is surely a huge opening here (fnarr!) for a new “Real Conservatives” style party - that actually moves more towards pre-Thatcher tory values. Even some gammons are uncomfortable with the constant Rightward lurch.

And let’s face it, a split tory vote would help Labour’s inept shamblings towards power greatly.

I wonder how many will call his bluff anyway… there may be enough dissatisfaction in the party for some to rebel anyway. Gove has said he’ll rebel apparently, although his word is hardly binding

The only surprising thing about Gove sharpening the knife on a leader is that it is visible this time.

The only time that twat sharpens a knife is when he’s cutting a line

It’s a strange world when one finds oneself empathising with Michael Gove

Continuity Conservatives perhaps ?

I wonder if the previous labour goverment will be blamed for the current problems at the tory conference. It’s always worked in the past for the blue rinses.

They’re blaming the next Labour government, genuinely :man_facepalming:

They are falling apart. The 45% cut had nothing at all to do with growth. They can’t justify it and it has pissed off a lot of the tory scum. Gove needs to twist that knife a little bit deeper.

I get it’s symbolically important but as I understand it, the amount of money the government gets from this tax band is relatively small. Reinstating it isn’t going to really change the amount the government has to borrow to fun the rest of their schemes.

Sure they should drop the idea, but it’s probably not the worst thing about the mini budget. Don’t think people should get fixated on it at the cost of other points.

Sorry but I entirely disagree. I understand that it’s pretty small fry revenue wise but it’s horrific piece of statement politics, fck the poor. The whole new ethos is supposedly about growth. No cunt can seem to explain how cutting income tax for people on 150k a year will increase growth, not one single minister.
