More shit that doesn't merit its own thread (septic tank overflow alert)

It was left over from the weekend when a veggie was here and needed eating. I don’t like waste either, despite having loads of crap all over the place.

Which bit of this below did you not understand?

ie ‘I pick and choose which values actually mean anything in practice, and when and where I want to apply them’

It is useful to read that quote a second time having remind yourself that it was written by a management consultant. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Pretty much all of the “values” our society cherishes are fucking ludicrous - i.e. we’ll defend to the death people’s right to believe childish nonsense like religion and veganism, but we’re happy to ignore people starving on the streets, dying of treatable illnesses, and gigantic wealth inequality in a nation comfortably rich enough to ensure no-one falls-thru the slats…

It’ll be anti-vaxers and flat-earth loons next.

Just had a flyer through the door for nextdoor. Thanks but we won’t have localised spam if that is ok…

Ignoring the Vegan aspect, I really don’t see how The Judge could have ruled in any other way. Definitely the correct conclusion, let’s hope it isn’t appealed against.

A strange ruling, he still has the Tribunal to determine if he was unfairly dismissed. i think he will use his ethical veganism case as part of his defence.

If Veganism doesn’t directly, adversely affect you, why give a fuck ?

Apparently Veganuary is a thing and it has just started.

Vaganuary would be better

I agree, it’s hard to see how it is different from a religion. But I’m fine if it’s appealed, more challenge is good.

If veganism is a religion then so is football

This is true, as is pretty much any obsession, at the extremes.

FFS. This is why I said ignoring the vegan aspect. It really has very little to do with this case. the ruling was about placing philosophical ethical beliefs on a par with religious ones. It is not like football or about obsession.

FFS ! For some people (rightly or wrongly) football IS a religion; equally as important to them as veganism is to a vegan !

Being a West Ham fan and not being a vegan I have no knowledge to comment on that. I wouldn’t recommend arguing it in a court though.
