How about one of Wayward’s coffees ?

I have a mix of old and new, should I expect some to disappear ?

Me too.

I think we’re given the option to

  • stick with one, old network. Get no new features
  • split the networks
  • go with one new network. Old products disappear

Has anyone tried any of the patio cleaning products? I’m thinking of something to spray on to make jet washing easier/quicker.

I have just used a pressure washer before, but had a look for something stronger, and found this. Not used it though.

I bought some black spot remover stuff. £40 for 2 ltrs off of ebay, spray on with a manual pump sprayer then jet wash off later. Works very well, if your patio has black spots. Jet washing alone didn’t touch them.

I have used Patiomagic! in the past and found it quite good. Didn’t remove the black spots though. Otherwise, just wet the patio and leave it.

So finally they’ve got around to announcing what Sonos S2 actually supports.

“Hi Res” == 24/48.

I was prepared to replace all my legacy bits if they’d do at least up to 24/96, preferably with a USB out, but it looks like I’ll be sticking with my old stuff.

Can anyone recommend a good streamer? The standalone PC thing came to nought.

Please don’t say “Auralic” - I’m Android not iOS

Me too i’m Android - bubbleUpNp is great at getting the Auralic to stream to various renderers…

My personal preference would be a Raspberry Pi. I’d use Logitech Media Server, but BubbleUpnp also works. Use the NUC or another Pi as server, or your NAS should do it. LMS has a Sonos plugin in development I think. Obviously you’d need your choice of USB DAC.

If you want a device rather than something you need to configure, the Bluesound devices look comprehensively specced. Node 2i, for example.

IME totally unreliable - pn a NAS/NUC or Pi. YMMV though

I don’t think it’d have reached the bloke who rendered my garage. He was old school. They warned me not to book him before Wednesday at the earliest. Monday and Tuesday he would still be pissed from the weekend, they said. Did I listen ? No. He was on site bright and early Monday morning. OK, maybe not bright exactly. But the stuff went on flat and has stayed stuck for the last 20+ years. It was about 5 years in when I found he’d used galvanised beading. It’s all BubbledUp. NFG.

I ran LMS on a Vortexbox from 2007ish - 2018ish without a single issue. it was rock solid as a server only in my experience.

I run Roon now and have more issues but I ask it to do a lot more than I ever asked LMS (e.g. TIDAL, DSP and internet radio).

I have been using LMS for years, and never had a problem. I also use Innuos gear, and have done for a few years, and they use it; no problems.

Very much V in MM. Had two running PiCorePlayer perfectly for years.

I’m not fussed about high res through my Sonos speakers. I have play ones, sound bar plus sub, play 5, beam and a new one. Any idea if I can move to new or better to stick with old software ?

Likewise, I have been using LMS and a bunch of SBTs, SqueezePlay and OrangeSqueeze for years, no issues

I’ve run LMS on a Pi for years and it’s rock solid. I never liked it under Windows, but that’s mainly because Windows would decide to update or something and stop working.

Mine happily serves many players, both software and hardware, with hi-res, Qobuz (inc hi-res), BBC iPlayer, all flawlessly, together with the weather and other sundry shit. It’s remarkable really.

If you go into Settings -> System tools in Android or Settings -> (something else) on iOS it’ll give you the full run-down on what your options are.
