Motoring horrors aka Edd wants

I like it, but I prefer a shorter wheelbase and Volvo engineering!:nerd_face::nerd_face:

I had the Austin 1800. If you laid the front seats down, it formed a massive double bed.
Perfect for Strayan Drive-Ins :+1:

ADO17 was the Land Crab, the Maxi used the land crab’s doors but otherwise they were different cars.

The one that always intrigued me (although I never drove or even rode in one) was the 3L.

Never even heard of that, but does look nice.

My dad’s favourite car.

My mum who drove like a maniac managed to get one of the back wheels off the ground going round a roundabout coming back from a school sports day with 7 in the car

I guess it was Austin’s answer to the XJ6 or Rover P5

There was one of those rotting behind the REME workshop of a TA infantry regiment that I used to work at.

It used to be the COs staff car until the early 80’s and somehow never got sent for disposal when its replacement arrived. So it just got parked up out of the way and ignored for a couple of decades.

Might even still be there.

I recall my Dad borrowing a 4L Van den Plas for a family holiday (maybe also towing a borrowed caravan?). That was a serious car & had some kind of Rolls Royce connection with regard to the engine.

My first boss had one of those.

Gorgeous car, very comfortable and almost silent engine. Dread to think what the fuel economy was!
