But if you are moving, this is possible to change, no ?
Probably yes, just trying to find out where to start really.
Apologies forum overlords for posting in the wrong area.
I would suggest a “source first” approach, and spend money on the WiFi, and use a cheaper streamer. A decent WiFi mesh with a Google Chromecast Audio would be fine, then plug into your DAC of choice.
If this is sorted (starting point) then other requirements will/can be different.
I would suggest a wired network, couple of CAT6 cables to.every room. Way more reliable that any WiFi and future proof.
Simplest would be a Cambridge audio cxn Or sumilarwith an hdd plugged in the back.
I have not pulled the trigger yet but in true forum style, I think I’ll just plug for a Yamaha WXAD10 on the cheap to get me up and running in the new house and see how I get on!
Conventional HDDs normally give you a bit of warning before they fail, but when an SSD goes it just dies - instantly and irreversibly. So make sure you back it up!
not always. I have had 3 spinners fail on me without any warning, noise or anything. I’ve also had 2 SSDs go on me.
