I don’t trust Amazon at all re pricing, but you will get plenty of notice if they do intend to charge, which would be enough time to sort something out yourself.

Any QNAP users, they are giving away 100GB lifetime cloud storage just for using their registering their storage space.
Slightly convoluted setup and you’ve got to be relatively quick as they only give 100 accounts away per day per region. Back up a NAS - Get 100 GB free cloud space | QNAP
Thanks for the advice chaps, bought a LaCie Rugged HDD and backed up using the HyperBackup (Single Image) sucessfully. Nice to have for piece of mind!
