Local legend round these parts. He was good mates with Mrs M’s drummer. Heard some stories of Beck, Quo’s drummer, Daltrey and a few others jamming in The Kicking Donkey.

Too young for anyone. She used to own a manor house just down the road and was often to be found at the garden centre my mother worked at.

A minor one, perhaps, and certainly late, but I’ve just discovered the chap responsible for my pre-amp, Helmut Becker of AudioValve, passed-away aged just 69 last spring.

Anyone responsible for something as demented as the Baldur monoblocs deserves a mention here I think -

Sadly, AudioValve went with him - torn asunder in a family dispute over inheritance

I want those just for the name (Baldur’s Gate was the first significant computer game I ever played).

They do look refreshingly batshit.

Sad to hear that David Sutherland the legendary Beano artist has passed away. So many childhood memories in two images
