Maybe try a dedicated forum.
They solved the astra problem, whereas the garage struggled, plus it can save a lot in bills.
My friend has had a seemingly endless stream of Impreza turbos over the last ten years and spurious warning lights seem to be very common. Some of them have been tricky to diagnose and get rid of. Others have been routine. I’d definitely second Stu’s suggestion of trying a dedicated forum in the first instance. Good luck!
If the scooby forum is as good as the jag xf forum I used to be on, you’ll get swamped with advice and even offers to do the work. There were guys on that forum doing full dash changes for free !
It’s something I’ve not really looked into to be honest, I’ll have a search around to see what’s out there.
Yep get an OBD reader, really useful even if it’s to nail down the exact fault.
I had a coil pack go on my 3-series, replaced them all myself but still needed the reader to remove the error once fixed.
Any recommendations on OBD readers? Seems to be loads out there!
Bluetooth ELM thingy and Torque or Motordata app.
I bought an OBD Connect II off Amazon, seems to do the job for £20, check it works with your model though.
Bit pricier (~£40), but I bought an Autech standalone jobbie - you can update vehicle models regularly. I can work it, so it’s pretty fool-proof…
Well, it was a misfire on cylinder 2.
Replaced coil pack.
All problems gone!
I think its time for an engine rebuild obviously.
It’s is time for a mahoosive great turbocharger bolted on to the side.
With a huge turbo.
Forged internals and a hybrid turbo ftw.
That’ll be Rob going to Tesco in a few weeks…
Rallying was just better then wasn’t it.
There’s a Barry Boy somewhere who has tapped himself into a coma to that image
If Coco made turbochargers…
