Pork Faff Therapy/ What are you eating?

I was going to say, I want to go there!

While I do like going out for steak, in many ways it’s so easy to cook well that you might as well spent a tenner each on your meat and get something better than you’ll ever get at a restaurant. The main thing is not to be afraid to stop cooking it even though it doesn’t look done!

Table’s laid for tomorrow:

(the phone really struggles with just candlelight, but I think the people will manage OK).

We’re now heading out to collect a takeaway curry .

Hmmm … expensive result ?

These were frozen, and just bunged onto the cast iron thingy while the steak was resting. Move them about, and they infuse with the oils and bits of browned meat. Rather ad hoc, and certain to be repeated, they were great!

In that she will be open minded about meat. I did explain it is a treat

Hope you blew the candles out before leaving the house - we wouldn’t want this on Christmas eve:

Beer and crisps tonight. Quite a lot of beer. Fair few crisps too.

Christmas day breakfast:
Smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast…
…accompanied by a glass of Chapel Down English (Kent) bubbly
:yum:

Full English for me and smoked salmon/scrambled eggs for Louise, not bad for a hotel breakfast

Spot on on every level.

Hotel buffet, so marmite on toast (unsliced) followed by a 4-rasher back bacon sandwich on soft, white bread with lots of butter and brown sauce.

Plus four coffees; buzzing.
