Went for an interesting South Indian in Nottingham last night. It appears theyā€™ve got a chain of 4 or 5.

Very different to anything Iā€™ve previously had. We had these massive Dosa pancake things.

I fucked up a bit on the main course. It was a fish curry, but I found the potato accompaniment a bit stodgy and disappointing.

The place is promising but I need to make better menu choices next time.

Got one in Leamington which is a regular haunt. Did you go for the tilapia in banana leaf?

KAPPAYUM MEENUM

ā€˜Kallu shapsā€™ (toddy shops) are the local pubs in all over Kerala. Every one including the families visit these pubs mainly to enjoy the Kappayum Meenum, though many of them do not drink alcohol. The fish curry is made with garlic paste, onions and red chillies and seasoned with mustard seeds, curry leaves and served with cassava (tapioca). (gluten free)

Lol, it was tapioca not potato. Iā€™d had a few beers to be fair.

I found the fish to be overcooked too.

South Indian, when done well is my favourite. Leicester has the best in my experience.
