You should also consider a DCB1. They have no gain like a passive but offer a consistent buffered output.

The AI may not have that much power supply smoothing capacitance from my memory of it (21 years ago, scarily). Fine for 89dB/W speakers but it may be that high efficiency shows that up a bit.

It’s just on the bass, just an irritating hum, tried it on the hecos, 95db?and it was slightly less.
