Settle 2024 Friday Sep 6th to Sun Sep 8th

The earliest that we are allowed to be in is 3pm, so if you get to Settle before then I suggest either checking out the cafes in town (Ye Olde Naked Man off the main square is good, and there are others) or taking a stroll around.

There’s a Coop on the square and a Booths (sort of northern upmarket version of Waitrose) on Kirkgate if anyone needs them. The Victoria Hall (Britain’s oldest surviving music hall, they say) is on the same street as Booths and there may be a cafe there.

Thanks Dave :+1:

I am also veggie and attending only on the Saturday. I will likely to arrive after breakfast so don’t cater for me for breakfast. For the rest of the day, it seems others hav sorted that out - many thanks. I will bring something to put in the food/drink mountain.

Hi Guys …Thanks for the Pms etc asking about me …I thought it better to give an update on current health and reason for not attending Settle this year ……As most of you are aware I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease earlier this year…I’m currently on medication to help control it (Madafor) which I take 3 times a day at set times 7.45,12.45 and 3.45 …I cannot have food one hour before and 30mins after …I also take one levothyroxine tablet for an under active thyroid at 8.15 am after which I generally eat breakfast around 8.45 …as well as these I’m on 2 slow release metformin and one linagliptin tablet to help with blood sugars …I went at least 60 yrs of my life tablet free and top class health to a tablet dependency person …Anyway back onto me at this present time …it’s hard trying to accept/adapt to big changes in my life as the tablets are causing me to having not nice side effects including need to be near my toilet most of the morning and a bit of depression has started to take over me …so I’m reluctant to journey far and I’m not really a happy bunny at this time …Doctors are telling me to stick with the medication and time will see better results …Apart from these I’m still trying to combat the anxiety etc and looking towards the future when I’m back to normal and enjoying life again …Thanks for reading and hopefully understanding….Bestest Micky

Stay positive Micky. And get the love wagon back rolling when you can.
Car parks across the UK miss you, and we miss you being at them!!

So sorry Micky, we are all here for you, and I’m a phone call away mate :muscle::metal::+1:

Breakfast won’t be the same without you Micky and where is Rob going to get his beers from?

Hope you are back to feeling your usual self soon. We will all miss you mate. Take it easy.

Sorry to hear that Micky. I’m sure the quacks know what they are talking about and that things will get better :+1:

Keep fighting it Micky - and keep active: inactivity and depression are enthusiastic bedfellows, and indeed many of your other health issues will be exacerbated, too.

Keep-on keeping-on mate :people_hugging:

Keep yourself doing what the doctors tell ya to do.

Next year is waiting for your breakfast expertise.

Thinking of you mate.

All the best Micky, doctors orders for now but hopefully with a bit of adjustment you’ll feel much better.

Feel free to have a good vent on here as and when you need to.

Be good. I’ll not be there this year either, on account of the breakfasts not being there either :hugs:

Either, either, or…

Micky - I was fearing it was a health reason for you not attending this year so sad to hear your message. We are of course all hoping that your body and the medication will get some synergy post haste.

All the best Micky
No doubt your legendary breakfast as well as you will be missed.

We’ll have to muddle through this year somehow, but we need you back for next year Micky. Keep pushing the doctors to get the tablets sorted. Explain that there are hungry people depending on it !

Best wishes Micky. Let’s hope that things settle down soon, so you can return to doing fun stuff again.

Keep on keeping on Mick :+1:

Keep on persevering Micky. You have my number if you need me mate.

Any last minute additions? On the fence about leaving your sofa for a weekend of fresh air?
Welcome to stop here en route…

As a last minute planner I’m looking at what’s still needed. Any kit? Nick mentioned me bringing my amp - or have we got that bit covered?
Food wise any needs?? Is it worth an order for pizza bases (Gozney / ooni pre made) as they can be a pain to sort on the day?

The walk reviews say muddy and windy, but it’s going to be low twenties (:crossed_fingers:t2:).
