I’ve spent a couple of hours today setting up the TT (not that easy, very sensitive suspension) and speakers properly and now a few hours listening to a fairly broad sweep of Albums and (I am aware that this is very trite) I could happily live with this set-up and may, indeed, do that.
My main system is certainly not worth it’s 4 times price tag of this.
What I don’t get, is that this is the second Alto that I have owned and, on both, I have used less than 10% of the volume range, and this room isn’t particularly small.
Those speakers are 89 dB/W at 1M. I doubt you’d be listening that loud most of the time so you’ll be using much less than a Watt.
I can’t recall what the input sensitivity of the amp was, I’d need to get mine out & measure it. It wasn’t freakishly sensitive though as far as I remember.
I’ve realised that it takes 4 6922s, 2 per channel. Because there isn’t a massive difference between solid state output mode and valve output mode I suspect the stock valves are more than average. I’ve got 4 Reflektor 6922 here, which I’ll pop in at some point. My pre uses 6922 as well. Here are some stock inner shots.
