Now I’m going to be valve measuring tomorrow
Guessing they are all 20mm
The Hotrox site states that you need 20mm rings for NOS signal valves and 22mm rings for modern equivalents.
The copper ribbons put me off. In my hands, they’re potentially dangerous and also they look a bit untidy. A faff too far.
Sir requires ribons
If you have valuable old valves that you may want to sell-on, or are simply a forgetful twat, then be careful using rings/dampers, as they’ll remove printed details from the surface of valves very easily, especially from the old stuff.
Innuos Zen Mini mk3
No point in posting a pic as it’s just a plain boring black box.
Connected to the devialet by optical toslink and it slaughters Roon.

My PV1 finally died and I needed a home theatre sub for the 5.1 set up.
I emailed Richer Sounds about a clearance option, and they found me one that the store knocked £300 more off their clearance price.
Worth asking! This came in at less than the 2000
SVS SB 3000
Really tempted to get an old rel or similar to try out
My T5i made quite a difference in my system.
The Technics SL-10 that I bought last week from Jake, Lord Mortlock, arrived this morning. First impressions are that it is an excellent sounding deck. I’m delighted with it.
I had a piece of toughened glass and some felt feet so I made a little shelf for it to sit on top of my Vida. It can live in the cupboard underneath and I can pop it on top of the Vida when in use.
It’s not ideal but it’s much less faff than removing the Vida to make room for the Technics and it does let me use the MM stage of the Vida which is a bonus.
In the next few weeks, I plan to buy a Jico SAS stylus for the fitted Shure M110E and, in due course, I’ll sort out a proper stand to sit over and clear of the Vida but until then my wee glass shelf will do a job.
I know it seems Palmer himself turned out to be a complete throbber, but I’ve not seen a single one of his turntables that didn’t look and sound excellent.
I just make little purpose stands out of b&q/ ikea legs, and marked kitchen doors ikea sell in the bargain area for £1 in a variety of colours
Local repair centre have just had my Denon AVR3500H in to see why the rear right channel is out.
Conclusion: no idea. Nothing obvious. Please come and take it away from here! Can’t help. Probably a chip fault.
Not happy. I can’t progress through the Audessey set up with a bad channel as it just stalls at the test tone for that speaker.
Might have to be a new one (equivalent is 1k)
Very hard to repair these sort of things. You can pick up a second hand one for buttons or just get a new one from Richer Sounds with a 6-year warranty.
I bought the AVR2800H recently for £550. Love it.
SITs come back from a service, so an excuse for some heat sink porn -
Definitely a slightly different presentation than the Tokin SIT but won’t get chance to compare more closely until that is back from having a bit more foo thrown at it.
S’what he said. They don’t make them easy to work on.
It’s just a pain as the sub has gone too and the cost is annoying. I can live with the rear right channel missing, just messes up the calibration stage when you get a new speaker.
I might just do it manually and live with it until it grates enough to splash out!
Pity too that the sales seem to be over but I’m sure there’s another one around the corner.
I’ll try the Richer sounds clearance query again.
They seem to find open box stock stores want shifted.
Seemingly for a a fair bit less than the internet start offer. Or I’ll live with it. Rear right isn’t exactly essential!
Hey Wayne nice to see they’re still in use
What did you have done in the service any extra foo added
