70WPC SETs - NICE!

Now you do need a set of Magellans in your life :+1:

Rack assembled and installed.

Bloody hell that thing died hard.

Only one major cock-up, and thankfully I spotted it pretty quickly so only minimal disassembly was required.

Once finally put together it’s a sturdy little beast at 26.5kg. Also I have found that the feet are adjustable, which is just as well since it turned out that the parquet isn’t entirely level.

Pro tip: philips screwdrivers don’t work on allen bolts.

I suspect they use a LOT of electricity.

Any idea what supplies of GM70s are like?

Easy to obtain. I ordered 4 spares from Wussia. ÂŁ175 all in. The ones that came with it sound great, but I just wanted a spare set.

Apparently, they were used / designed for Russian tanks. Which, was part of the reason I couldnt resist them . The guy who owns / makes NAT Audio is ex Serbian military. They weigh 50kg each. Unsurprisingly, they are powerful. They are very holographic.

Audiophile Russky tankies. Having a minor boggle. No doubt Russian engineering philosophy means you can mend them with a hammer.

That was the one question mark over those amps…there is the possibilty that they can only be serviced / repaired by specialists…the nearest one is in Germany. There is a UK dealer, but no service centre. I concluded they were a good deal / price and being artisan hand built was a good start on reliabilty. I’d been thinking about buying line magnetic. Germany is closer than China!

They were almost starting to sound like not-too-bad-an-idea and then

You know that “iron” is everything.

I discovered the painful way that >50kg is no longer a weight I can lift… :slightly_frowning_face:

(But yeah, sonically… :+1:)

One of those in a T-34 would keep it warm on the eastern front in the middle of winter

Fucking things run hotter than the surface of the sun.

Went to local Richer Sounds today. I was prepared to buy the 3800 or even consider higher for reasons (FOMO).
I left with a 2800 and it was ÂŁ370. They had an open box and 20% off the display price!
Don’t think my B&W M1 satellites need much more.

Holy fuck, what a score!

That’s what I bought for my fronts. Did a little HT upgrade in the sales.

Having read up since I got back I am slightly unsure of accepting Audessey XT rather than XT32.
That’s probably the only reason I’d be tempted by the 3800.

Well you were saying you weren’t fussed about one of the channels the other day, so I reckon you’ll cope
