Thanks chaps.
The wife is also in the hospital right now, at the drop-in X ray clinic. Tendinopathy (oh aye) in her ankle and the osteopath reckons it might have developed into a fracture.
We’re getting old!

Ain’t that the truth ![]()
Sorry to hear this Guy. You may have no choice, but if you do then get there early. Friday evenings in A&E can get steadily more unlovely.
Boo indeed Kev. Still, the sooner they know what it is, the sooner they can set about sorting it.
Just GET WELL SOON Kev, Guy and Mrs Guy !
Sorry to read of your difficulties @kevin, @Gyroscope and @MrsGyroscope. Obvious best wishes for speedy recoveries all round.
Fingers crossed guys (and gals).
Here’s hoping that @Kevin and @Gyroscope both have good results and the speediest of recoveries.
All the best guys.
Personally I found when having my lump looked at by specialists, and they say something you don’t agree with, say I’ve been on YouTube and it seems you can do it this way….They bloody love it. ![]()
and now MiL has had another fall.
Today is turning out to be just awesome.
Guessing they will be telling you to sell the clubs and buy swimming trunks
Yikes
Wishing the best for y’all…
^ this! GWS please.
Best wishes for welcome outcomes to all
Best wishes to all for a full recovery!
Good luck @Kevin and @Gyroscope. Fingers crossed for you both.
I’ll add my best wishes to you guys.
Today hasn’t gone the way I’d planned.
After breakfast we went into Petite Venice, walked for a bit, then stopped for a coffee, when I got a horrendous pain in my chest. Not pulsing, just solid. I (apparently) went white but remained conscious. Staff at café were concerned, so called their local doctor. She told me to go back to the hotel and rest. If the pain doesn’t stop, call for an ambulance.
I’ve been back in our room for the last 5 hours and feel fine, if a little shaken. N’s quite shaken too. Just had a light meal in our room (not the over indulgence I was hoping for but hey ho).
No alcohol tonight, and feet up.
Restart tomorrow in Germany.
Will get checked out when back home.
Yes, getting older is a bitch.
Hope it is just a blip, and doesn’t spoil your holiday.
Pull yourself together!
Hopefully you’ll be feeling better tomorrow.
Status update from screaming-into-the-void central.
No A&E thankfully.
Quinine prescription.
Moar blood tests.
Neurology referral.
The wife should be arriving at Gatwick about now to get the 7pm to Belfast. The MiL has lasted about 10 days “on her own” (i.e. daily carer as opposed to having at least one offspring present) and totally can’t be alone overnight.
Currently trying to work out WTF I’m going to eat tonight and wondering whether I’ll make it over on Wednesday. I guess it’s wait and see, I seriously struggled with five minutes on the bus this morning.
