I know what you mean but by the time he’s bought stands for the Q Acoustics there’s not much of a saving over the Lintons and not much difference in footprint either. Missed opportunity in my opinion.
I’ve tested both. With the power on hand from the Yamaha, the Q Acoustics is the better speaker.

I’m a bit surprised to hear that but I don’t doubt your judgement. Glad that he’s chosen a decent combination.
It’s not a huge difference but Q Acoustics have been doing really clever things with cabinets over the last decade. Put 30 seconds of thought into how you place the Concept 30 and it just disappears into the sound it makes. It’s really, really impressive. The Q Acoustics stand is bobbins though and should be ignored.
