Sonos versus Synology DSM 7

In case anyone else runs into this.

I stupidly upgraded my Synology NAS to DSM 7 today.

Unsurprisingly this knocked Sonos stone dead - “access denied” to my main SMB music share.

After some extreme frustration and trying a lot of random stuff, solution is in this thread

fixed it.

Control Panel → File Services → SMB → Advanced Settings → Others

And if you’re running Sonos and have a ripped library with folder.jpg album art, you’ll notice that this has stopped working.

Apparently by new support for SMB v3. Fix coming, but no ETA.
