SOYS: State Of Your System

Thank you!

Lol! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

This place is worse than the WAM despite the self-proclaimed aversion to hi-fi.

Gone full Quad, with a QSP added to the Artera Play and the NS1000s.

Hmmm …best fire up the mince pie thread. …

You’ll also find some familiar faces just with different names.

Sorry, I really should know what those speakers are with the vents at the bottom. Please refresh my memory.

No problem GS. They are PMC 25/23i’s, finished in Oak.

Added my Sabaj A20d dac it was annoying me that the balanced inputs on HPA222 weren’t being used but had to buy a new extension plug as I needed more sockets and also an optical splitter to send the feed from the WIIM to both dacs.

It’s been interesting listening to two different dacs - they do sound different unlike what some would argue - but for the near £1k difference in price it does beg the question whether that could be spent elsewhere for bigger differences in sound quality.

Maybe I should hunt down one of these R2R dacs and give that a compare.

The Chord is the better dac, imo, but really shines when the music gets more complex/heavy but funnily enough I prefer the Sabaj when listening to tv shows/podcasts.

Do you have more photos and details of this? Thanks

I really should get round to fitting the MAOP11 to the Pensils but breaking them in gently for 300hrs is going to be a PITA.

Did you follow all the advice with first 100hrs really low and gentle music with no more than 5hrs per session etc?

Yes. I fitted them into the cardboard box they came in and left them playing radio 6 music for a week at low volume while I built the cabs.
Then when I put them in the cabs, I went a bit louder, but nothing silly for another week or so.

It was built by a guy who goes by the name ARB. Sells his turntables on ebay.
I can’t tell you much more than that.
