supervisor (deliberate small s) this morning. The trams are fucked. I reasonably asked to go directly to where the bus starts.
This way it leaves on time.
Because it couldn’t be bothered to help out by making reasonable adjustments like the others do, now I am going to be late. And so is the bus. Which would not otherwise have happened.
Actually feeling pretty pissed off so if I get any stick, I will just turn around and fuck off.

I didn’t in the end. Was bloody close to doing so; in the end as I predicted, I was 30 minutes late and mileage was lost.
Points Failure on the trams which has just at the time of writing been sorted.
I feel better as I spoke my mind using three words, calmly drove to where I needed to be, and have heard that said supervisor got a bollocking over the excessive lost mileage…

The boys / men who persistently hassle niece #2 in the street can have one.
Three times already this week. Monday’s incident sounds like borderline assault from some little shit who wouldn’t take “no” for an answer. Even on the half mile home from us at 4pm yesterday she had to phone her mum because she’d started to fear for her safety.
There’s not a lot you can do if you’re not present but FFS, it’s 2024, what makes you think this is in any way OK? Cockpunch.

Toxic masculinity is depressing in it’s prevalence and breadth. It is across all age groups and as prevalent in the workplace as it is in wider society. Its the one thing that when i look back at the general impact of my generation, that we somehow got wrong. so much progress elsewhere, but on this issue, it’s got bloody worse.
It really hit home when our Union did a survey across MOD on the back of that very public letter sent in by women working in the MOD. We found that it was far worse and widespread than we had initially thought, from low level harassment up to and including sexual assault in the workplace from male colleagues, both in the public and private sector.
I don’t have any answers,but I know it will be a combination of many issues that need tackling, from Schools to Universities and Workplaces an into wider societal issues.
Individually we can call it out, but it wont be enough.

A cockpunch to coincidence.
Approx. 3 weeks ago our son was in slow moving traffic and his car was rear ended by another, the driver was an off duty law enforcement officer. He’s never been stopped in the past for any suspected driving or other offence and has been stopped on three occasions since, breathalysed, drug wiped and roadside checks on his car made.
Isn’t coincidence a pain, time dates etc all duly noted and no charges/cautions issued , I’m beginning to think his car has a marker placed on it. But that wouldn’t happen in this country would it ?
He could do a Subject Access request. Suspect it won’t say if anything on record/flagged, but might stop any unofficial stuff going on.

yea, he’s put a marker on him with his mates in Traffic in the hope of finding something incriminating to ease his own insurance claim. Can’t see how that would work though if the checks weren’t done at the time of the accident. Maybe he’s just pissed with your lad and did it out of spite. Could of course just be a coincidence:)
Having two serving Police Officers in the family and listening to conversation about their days on duty , I’m of the opinion that the vast majority are in the job for the right reasons and are good people. Some however appear to have a sense of self entitlement and self empowerment, hiding behind their uniform/position and ego - not all I hasten to add.
We’ll see how this rolls out and just keep records of further incidents, if any.

I’d make a formal complaint. I’d put it in writing and send it to the forces professional standards department by special delivery.

In my nearly 50 years i can only recall 2 members of my family ever being stopped. There is absolutely no chance its coincidence.
This makes my blood boil. It’s so unprofessional by the Police. They have a million better things to be doing. After all the scandals , they’re still acting like gangsters. They just never learn.
