The Allotment has nearly had a clean shave

All the cactii love that spot and at some point this year the rest of them go nuts flowering but that one has the biggest most impressive flower, if only for a day.

Is it South facing Wayne ?

Pretty much.

Pineapple Broom Tree starting to fill out after years of neglect and looks (and smells) great. Somewhat starting to get the ground elder under control, it’s a long term project

Plum tree to the left needs a decent prune too as only the lower branches are productive.

Plenty of colour at the moment. Garden being left to it’s own devices (between gardeners*). It has developed some character of it’s own…

Fuck that!

On the plus side, a fraction of the apples that the old tree in the front garden has knocked out.

500 grannies chins eaten (rasps), some lettuce, cauliflower and beans to bring home.
Added some honey from the guy who keeps bees in the fields behind, along with a comb full in a tray, and got totally roasted at our patch today.
Still can’t get my head round it being thirty something quid a year to rent it.

A lot of bees about this evening (good) but I’ve barely seen a wasp this summer (worrying)

We were saying the same thing only yesterday. Not good at all.
