I’m by no means a monarchist, but she definitely knew the meaning of Duty. I’m really quite sad at this news.

I can’t imagine anyone fullfilling the role of Queen, any better than she did.
Rest in peace. You have earned it.

One of the most humble and dignified people, and to sustain it for 70 years service is incredible. She never failed to lead no matter what, no matter where.
I’m not sure we will be lucky enough to see the like of her again.

Her reign was a comforting constant in a world that changed a lot in my lifetime,
Probably a good time to put the monarchy to rest. Charles isn’t popular and I doubt anyone else really wants the crown

My memory will be her smile, always smiling, particularly when meeting folk, regardless of who they were.

I am actually genuinely saddened by this. RIP Liz.

The only monarch we’ve ever known (apart from @stu obvs)

I like to think she waited to sign Liz Truss in just so #thefatponce couldn’t cosplay being the great statesman once again.

Job well done your maj.

Increased in value. Probably.

Her coronation was a couple of weeks before I was born.

Farewell Ma’am, you served us well.

I remember the Coronation and the celebrations.
I still have my Coronation mug. She served her country well and was a great Monarch.

I recall @stu telling me he turned 18, 2 weeks before Prince Edward Duke of Kent passed & delivered milk to Victoria the morning she was crowned. I have my doubts. Victoria didn’t even like milk.

Yes, but none of your pound notes will be. Please send to me for recycling.
