I think it’s unlikely policies like tarrifs and immigration will be enforced to the extent Trump’s promised, but giving these two, with the values they hold (or don’t) free reign over government depts… erk.

I can see it both ways.
It’s not far removed from “The Guardian no longer posts on Truth Social”. There is now good data science that Musk skewed the algorithm massively toward Republican voices and outlets of his choosing which is straight up election interference in my book, given he owns the platform.

I’m curious about this, is it any different to the way the NYT presented all their coverage of Biden’s cognition issues vs Trump’s? (Just as an example - there were a number of areas where their coverage was at best “inconsistent”)
I’m guessing an element might be about transparency there.
It kind of is because the employees of the NYT (or any news media platform) are baked in. Surpressing voices that are on your social media platform that you’ve bought purely to promote your agenda is a different gig (imo)

I have just this minute deactivated my X account. There is no earthly reason why anyone should care, but I have.
Almost all of my activity on X was as a viewer of links to posts of a political or socio-political nature, which basically left me swimming in excrement. There is no debate, no reasoned argument, just blanket hatred.
Enough.
Good fucking riddance. The place was depressing the living fuck out of me.
Will confess to some feelings of a FOMO nature, but I’m sure they will pass.
