She’s obviously been hunting for it in my bedside drawer, because she’s just stomped down stairs and shouted at us, whilst shaking a durex box in our faces" You two are DISGUSTING, ewwww, there’s meant to be 12 in this box but there’s only 3 left…"
So Claire said “Oh, thanks for that, I’ll get another pack tomorrow, wouldn’t want to run out!”
Meanwhile, Lauren is going “lalalalalala” with fingers in her ears and eyes screwed shut.
Literally my best ever moment as a parent. I wish we’d videoed it for posterity.
We’ve finally got water back on, though it’s a bit cloudy. A 21" main water pipe burst at 04:30 Saturday morning taking out the water supply to 20,000 homes. The pipe was 4 meters deep below a gas main. To make it all the more fun, the trench they dug collapsed due to the amount of rain we have had.
Severn Trent did a bloody good job managing the situation though. Really good communications and updates by social media, automated phone calls and local meetings with counsellors. They set up water distribution points all over the affected area and gave away whatever water was required.
And where was Touch of Cloth when needed? On fucking holiday, that’s where.
