Oh fission reactors are so yesterday …
I used to work in ‘pulsed power’ and it’s very possible, in the tradition of the late and very, very great Charlie Martin, to knock together very respectable pulsers using garage/kitchen technology on a timescale of a few days. If it weren’t for the havoc that they tend to wreak on modern communications technology it might be quite a laugh to jig one up in the garden 
.
(The one in the video stores an energy of 450J or so. The one I used to work on stored, at full charge, an energy of 164,000J.)

My lord, I’ve just watched the full interview that Cathy Newman did with Jordan Peterson on gender inequality, amongst other things.
Is it safe to come out from behind the sofa? 
She was just using the same ‘so you’re saying…’ style with the Russian ambassador. It didn’t work there either.
Definitely needs to mix it up.
Especially when it definitely isn’t what the person is saying or has said. It just makes her look foolish.
