Today I have mainly been V5.0 (Part 3)

Lots of seemingly fixed terms are actually quite elastic

I was once waiting for a girlfriend to get ready as we were going out.

I asked her how long she was going to be? She said “five minutes”

About 20 minutes later I asked her exactly how long 'five minutes" was?

She said "You know when you are down the pub with your mates and I ring you and ask how long you are going to be and you say ‘five minutes’?

Exactly that long"

I remember being confused- not difficult by “a couple o’ three” back in t’day.

Did this mean six? A few? Fucking confusing!

Yeah, think that’s a fairly regional one - and pretty old-timey. I use it m’self sometimes…

Should say, it usually just means “2-or-3”, as a vague estimate sorta thing,

Barbers used to sell “a pack o three”

A couple is two, by definition, always :+1:

What colour is it?

Clear and a little fizzy. It will need to be boiled before usefor the next ten days however!

I use bottled water for drinking in general.

A few pics from a little moorland outing yesterday. Not sure what the symbol on the stone was about. There was some quarrying near the tor at one time so likely to do with that. Will need to ask on one of the FB Dartmoor groups.

You know full well that marks the spot of the ancient order of the H.C.B. I can’t believe you put a picture of it up for the men of Kent and Luton to observe. Perhaps the radon will scare them off?

Definitely an ancient swingers meeting mark, before pineapples came to these shores.

I think there’s a formal definition of “two”, and a more relaxed definition of “at least two but probably less than four”, much like Douglas Adams definition of a trilogy as “a series of at least three books”.

Still trying to proceed with the pre Christmas clear out ready for the new year. I can’t understand how I’ve managed to hoard so much stuff, where or how I’ve even got half of it or how after 4 tip runs and 20 carriers bags full in the bin there’s still so much stuff left

Getting into the Xmas spirit (sort of). Bought a tree a bit earlier than usual as it would normally be next weekend, but we are busy.
This will be my first Xmas in 48 years that I can just get into [/Retirement firsts]…

Seen the horse and traps in Camden a few times, brilliant sight them all dashing up the high street at speed.
