What about Vice Admiral Kebab Sword Woman?

Genuine question, she seems like the kind of conviction-free ambitious weasel to go for it again.

She would have been a major player I expect.
I included Hunt in there as though he has said he won’t stand he could be persuaded by the centrists if a massive shift to the right is detected.

Not that it needs much detecting with that list!

Surely going with Duckman Schmidt is the definition of insanity - trying the same thing again even though it didn’t work last time.

I think he was in there as a caretaker manager if Sunak decided he didn’t want to carry on as leader until a proper election could take place.
There is an argument though that whoever is elected is unlikely still to be leader when the next election comes along, so any candidate with real ambition might be better off not winning this time.

Also IDS might be seen as a non risk uniting candidate as the Tories are split asunder at the moment.

Badenoch hasn’t even declared yet but that hasn’t stopped the attacks

IDS was leader 2001-3, then Michael Howard, then Cameron 2005. It could all go around again! That would get us weeping into our cocoa.

With no Howard or Cameron not quite sure how that could happen.

But it might allow time for a current non-entity (like Cameron was), to come through…

It might be an advantage to the new leader to not be associated with the worst Tory result in memory

I hope one of the right wing bell ends gets it.

Cameron could get himself delorded, or lead the Tories from the HoL. That way someone else has to do the HoC heavy lifting, of which as an OEtonian, he would heartily approve.
I know it’s a nightmare scenario, but given the last decade and a half…

Will the dynamic, charismagazm John Major please stand up.

Not enough money or prestige for Cameron in opposition.
Flaunting your title and jetting round the world as Foreign Sec is very different than leading a decimated party in opposition.

Braverman to lose, then immediately going to reform

Will the openly racist party have her?

She could flounce, but it would be the end of any hopes of the top job. Also the Member for Clacton doesn’t want any ambitious biggish hitters around him.

This.

The hatstand-wingnuttier the better - easiest way for Labour to win a second term.

9 Corbyns.

When you’ve got Tom Tugger saying “we’ll have to leave the ECHR” you’re in for a monumental period of reflection.

Except that the Tories are in opposition and totally irrelevant.
Whatever they do will have absolutely no impact on anything, which I expect will be particularly galling to all the egos involved.
There is great entertainment value though.
