Last Saturday with 3 busses in an hour so I got the holy grail of the hopper fair, eventually capped at £10 for zones 1-3.

You can’t tap ind out from Brighton so will need a ticket.
Single off peak can be cheap on certain trains but I think you need to use one of the apps. The train station will charge the flat rate.
