Twitchers Revisited

Should say that the fence is leaning rather than flat on the ground, but still a shame. We were going to put that box and a village box on the wall of our house as we hadn’t noticed it being used before.

We are only glad that it wasn’t robin eggs as we have had a pair in our garden.

Wow … great to see these impressive birds close up. Quite common along the M4 corridor in Wiltshire where I am. I live quite close to a town bypass …so I see quite a few buzzards and kites thermalling over the roads. Gets quite busy raptor wise.

This time of year it’s nice to watch pairs of Buzzards doing their aerobatics high over my house.

I love dipping into this thread…thanks for the amazing pics.

Had this beauty in work today.

Constant light rain and heavy cloud made birding hard work but several Brambling managed to brighten up the day.

Of the Long-billed variety. Did you find it ?

No, it was pointed out to me by some excited watchers in the hide. All this is rather new to me but figured you would appreciate the share.

(It is my photo though)

Yes thanks.

N. American migrant. Not rare but certainly scarce, the Short-billed is the mega rarity.

5 Brambling have been in the garden all day (I put seed out every morning) including some cracking males

They do face stiff competition though

Blowing a hoolie today so not the best conditions for birding but a Grey Wagtail was a welcome surprise, they’re a less than annual passage migrant here.

Damn handsome bird that - had no idea they even existed. IUCN ‘vulnerable’, so they may not for too much longer…

I’m totally new to the whole bird thing but thought it would be a fun thing to try while I had access to a nice lens. I have really enjoyed it all week tbh, people are very quick to point out anything interesting.

The cake at all the cafes has been top notch too.

You’ve captured some brilliant pictures on the way.

Here ya go

Wider commentary on the innacuracy of the depiction re. any given species of warbler and/or lack of warbling behaviour in bird depicted are strongly encouraged :+1:

While I was at work, Narelle had a couple of visitors…

Yes, I know the lawn needs mowing
