7 Goldfinch, 2 Greenfinch
Quite pleased with how the Olympus performs. It’s a shame it was so dull, iso through the roof.
More from Frampton Marsh.
I did hear a Bearded tit, but couldn’t see it.
Wigeon
Little Egret
Redshank
This isn’t quite as comprehensive, or up to date, but the illustrations are by The Master himself - Lars Jonsson - streets ahead of anyone else in the game IMO.
Good prices on eBay too, for the hardback version - £4.99 with free p/p
Ordered both, thank you.
Ordered
As recommended by @pmac this is excellent
Out today around Oare marshes Faversham. Murky day again (so rubbish for my new lens🙄) but a few shots grabbed nonetheless.
Greenshanks
And some Cattle Egrets
A slight aside, but went to the V&A in Liverpool yesterday which has a room at the moment about Audubon’s Birds of America. Couldn’t take photos but it was really interesting and some of the works they had were much bigger than I realised given they were to go in a book. I was also interested that whilst they mention it being one of the most expensive books in existence for the originals, they didn’t mention pricing (record is $8.8m for a single copy).
It is, although limited to confusion species. Not really a field guide as such
