Twitchers Revisited

I think there were some Redwings darting about at the local Reserve yesterday, couldn’t get the buggers to sit still long enough for a photo though

Did get my first shots of a Goldfinch and some Tufted ducks, and a picture of a Grebe that I quite like

In case no-one has mentioned it, the Merlin app is great for listening out and identifying birds.
I used it earlier this year in Hong Kong and Japan and managed to pick up some more exotic species than I’m used to hearing in North West England!

Heron in Clare Glen, Co Down this morning.

Someone is now going to tell me that it’s actually a lesser spotted shitehawk or something.

Grey Plover is a scarce bird here, this one has been hanging around the Funzie area since October. At least it was benefiting from some Winter sunshine today.

Had a tremendous few hours at Holkham Nature reserve; first time for me spotting and photographing all of these (except the Red Kite)

I think I’ve identified them accurately but please correct me if not!

Oystercatcher

Sanderlings (fantastic to see dashing up and down the shoreline at close quarters)

Curlew

Redshank (chilling with Curlew)

Stonechat

Abundant Greylag Geese

Lapwing (amazing flying display!)

And inevitably some Red Kites
