[PEDANT] Speed is the rate of change of position (the amplitude of the velocity vector) and in physical reality it’s always associated with something changing its position. So the speed of any thing will always, instantaneously at least, have a direction. The big circular thing in the bottom right cormer of the pic is controlling the direction. Sometimes nothing important depends on the direction, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t one. [/PEDANT]
So are we saying that Speed could only have direction by Alan Smithee?
Isn’t there some story of a formidable pre-war actress rehearsing a monologue on stage and being interrupted every so often by spoken guidance from the stalls ? Eventually she loses her patience, points into the dark and shouts into the wings “Who IS this PERSON ?!”.
It’s the poor director of course.
