Clearing out today and found a box of valves, they have been there for a few years and I don’t have, and don’t intend to get a valve amp any time soon. Pete tested this lot quite a few years ago and they were all in spec. and haven’t been used since. I have no idea of there value.
The CV4003 is the ‘special quality’ variant of the Mullard ECC82. This tends to make them more valuable than ‘ordinary’ ECC82s, although in actual fact the qualities that they were selected for might only be ones of interest to the military e.g. tolerance of the sort of acceleration associated with a missile launch, or ability to run reliably at some unusual temperature, or to be run as hot as possible then inundated with ice-cold water and still survive. Audiophiles like ‘special’ stuff though.
